Jim Matthews graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. While in law school, Jim worked in the offices of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas, the Travis County District and County Attorney, and the Travis County Mental Health Public Defender. After law school, Jim worked at the New Braunfels firm of Hazel Brown Wright Reneau where he served multiple counties and clients in the areas of family and criminal law. In 2015 Jim opened his own practice in Travis County where he focused on criminal and child welfare law. Jim is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association, and the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

After leaving television Jim worked as a media director for Ketchum Public Relations. Jim also taught journalism for the American Forces Television network. He is the author of a baseball book scheduled for release next May titled “Shine The Light”. He is married and has two sons, one of whom practices personal injury law in Austin.

Christina Hanson is an Austin native and has committed her legal career to prosecuting and defending personal injury cases state-wide since her admittance to the Texas Bar in 2020. Formerly a Plaintiff’s attorney for an Austin personal injury firm, Christina gained extensive experience handling depositions, hearings, trial preparations, and settlement negotiations on a wide variety of cases. She now uses her knowledge of both sides of the docket to effectively counsel her clients and defend their case through resolution. Her insurance defense practice encompasses all aspects of first-party and third-party claim litigation.
Christina graduated from Southwestern University in 2017, where she double majored in Psychology & Spanish, minored in Business, and competed in Division III women’s lacrosse. In 2020, she earned her law degree with a Special Distinction in Litigation from Baylor University School of Law. During her time in law school, Christina was recognized for her written and oral advocacy skills, winning two consecutive moot court championships and several writing awards, including 1st Place in Baylor’s Ultimate Writer Competition.
